Disney Completes Marvel Acquisition Posted by Jess on Jan 30 2010 09:08 pm
This is old news to some but we kind of lost track of this story during the holidays and wanted to give those asking an update.
December 31st 2009.
Disney has announced that it has completed its acquisition of Marvel.
Following the acquisition, Disney potentially has access to Marvel’s huge bank of assets which include over 5,000 characters featured in a variety of media over 70 years and businesses, including licensing, movie production and publishing.
From our understanding and what we have read this is a merger and all projects that were in currently in the works and many future projects that were to be in the works from Marvel are not affected by this. This includes the Iron Man and Wolverine animes. Marvel is still its own company. It just basically has a new owner. At least that is how KA understands it. That is how it is to be for now. At least we hope that is how it will be. We'll just have to wait and see won't we.

Tax Time! KA Recommends Turbo Tax Posted by Jess on Jan 23 2010 04:05 pm
Although I myself won't get any refund this year that doesn't mean our readers won't. My mom has used this software for 5 years now and I usually help out on the PC and this is a great piece of software to file your taxes with.
For those lucky not to have state income tax like TN and other states then I recommend Just the Turbo Tax with federal and e-file. If you have simple returns you can always try the free version at www.turbotax.com. Also you can tryout each tax software before you order the full package there. I say it's definately worth it.
Cowboy Bebop is Apparently 'Too Awesome' for Fox to Make Posted by Jess on Jan 19 2010 04:34 pm
What's the latest on the Bebop live action flick? Everyone keeps asking so here is what I found.
So we know that Keanu Reeves is still attached to play Spike Spiegel in a live-action Cowboy Bebop movie, whenever it gets made. However, what we don't know is how far along in the process the project is, especially since it doesn't have a director attached. Reeves updated MTV recently and revealed that it hasn't moved forward because Fox is concerned over the budget. Here's what he had to say: "There's a draft of the script, but the writer did such a great job [that] in order to make the movie, you would need half a billion dollars." I just love that quote. Was it really that awesome or did they just throw in as much as they could?

AIRBENDER Del Ray Manga annouces they have four manga coming your way this year based on Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender. Two will be full-color manga based on Nickelodeon's animated series, and two will be original black and-white-manga based on M. Night Shyamalan's live-action movie, The Last Airbender.
